What a crazy, crazy couple of months it has been. Besides having a growing baby and a 2 year old, we have been traveling, packing, visiting, moving, and buying/selling homes. At the end of May we took a great trip to Boston to visit family. A good time was had by all and we had some lovely weather. We were blessed to have my great grandmother and aunt Cathy in town for Cooper's baptism which was also a real treat.
We learned that Cooper has a natural hold on a beer bottle.
Mia was obsessed with grandpa's birthday which was earlier in May. She went to the grocery store with grandma and came home and whispered to everyone that they had bought grandpa a birthday cake....which they had not...we eventually had to go get a birthday cake for her to feel fulfilled.
When we arrived home in Charlotte we packed the rest of our temporary housing things and then went to Lisa and David's to stay while the movers packed the house. We had one last play date to say goodbye to our friends. Mia loved baby Cole's pool.
Cooper even got to join in on the fun and Cole enjoyed not being the "baby" anymore.
We had a fabulous time staying with Lisa and David. Fabulous food was made, lots of wine drank, and I even had my laundry folded for me. Couldn't get better service at a 5 star hotel! Thank you Lisa and David for your hospitality. The picture above is us leaving their house the morning we drove to Virginia.
The first week we were in Virginia, we had a visit from GG and Papa who were in town for business. It was great for everyone to have familiar faces around as we got settled in our temporary digs.
While GG and Papa were here Cooper started sitting by himself on a consistent basis and went back to rolling over which had had taken a hiatus from.
Our temporary location in McLean has been tight quarters but fun. We have enjoyed not owning a house and doing whatever we please on the weekends. I also have enjoyed the semi-urban living and how close we are to most things. I will miss being able to walk to the grocery store! We have a great pool at the "hotel" as Mia calls it. Cooper took his first swim in the pool and loved it. He even likes to float on his back!
While Cooper has been napping in the mornings, Mia and daddy have been taking in the sights. They visited the air museum at Dulles airport and make frequent trips to the park on the Potomac at the edge of the Reagan airport to watch the planes fly in overhead.
Our lack of home ownership lasted almost 1 month to the day. Last Thursday, we closed on our new home sweet home in Vienna, VA. The moving trucks arrive this Thursday and we are excited to become more permanent here.Hope everyone is well and I will try not to take such a posting hiatus in the future!
